Short Version (500 words or less)
I found the How God Can and Will Restore Your Marriage book after my marriage and life fell apart. This book washed me with truth of His Word and helped me to rebuilt my life on the Rock. Through the book I met my First Love. Through this book I learned that there is hope and healing for all the hurt you experienced in your life. The Lord wants to heal you, love you, restore you, and give you a future where you can look ahead and be radiant.
Long Version:
My restoration journey began long before I even recognized it. Looking back, I can see the Lord trying to get my attention seven years ago, but at the time I was blind to His voice. I was a Christian, yes — but He was not the Lord of my life. I read the Bible occasionally, prayed when I could keep my eyes open, went to church when it was convenient, and thought baptism alone defined my relationship with Him. I believed I was doing “enough,” yet I didn’t know Him personally. I lived independently, trying to fix my own problems and carry every burden myself.
Meanwhile, my marriage was slowly unraveling.
Three years ago, at the beginning of the year, I reached a breaking point, and decided I was done with my marriage. I had become bitter, hard, and angry. Yet in the midst of that hardness, one night I broke. Desperate and exhausted, I cried out to the Lord, asking Him to help me move on. At the time, restoration was the last thing I wanted. I started searching online and found testimonies of restored marriages. That’s when I found Restore Ministries International, I immediately read How God Can and Will Restore Your Marriage. This book changed everything and hope was born. God began changing me, teaching me who He is and His heart for me.
My restoration journey became about Him — my Beloved Lord. I found something I had never known before: peace, joy, and an unshakable love.
This book drove me to my knees, washed me clean with Scripture, and placed me on the Potter’s wheel and I found my First Love. The hurt that once consumed me was replaced by forgiveness and hope. My heart of stone was replaced with a heart of flesh.
I learned that I did not have to stay where I was — broken, rejected, hopeless, or afraid. The Lord wants to heal my heart, make me His Bride, and show me the abundant life He died to give me. I can stand still and watch Him fight for me. I can look to the future and be radiant.
